***Part 1***

A few days after Kenta’s confrontation with his former friend, halfway through Golden Week, I was summoned by Yuuko to come to Lpa. She said she was shopping with Yua and wanted to report Kenta’s case while she’s at it.

“──and then, he yelled at the other boy and was like, ‘Don’t look down on Kenta!’”

“Oh, it’s rare for Saku-kun to be that enthusiastic.”

Yuuko had been telling Yua about that day for a while. It was refreshing to hear the story from a third-person perspective, but she described it in such an exaggerated way which made me embarrassed.

For more than an hour, I stood one step behind them while carrying their luggage.

“But then, it’s also impressive that Yuuko-chan was on standby the whole time.” Yua smiled softly.

I completely agreed with that. If Yuuko wasn’t there at that time, me and Kenta would have been in a bad mood on the way home.

On the other hand, Yuuko replied as if what she did was nothing. “Really? If Uchi was in my shoes, you would definitely have done the same thing!”

Still wearing a smile, Yua shook her head. “That’s not true. Because what Yuuko-chan considers as a normal thing to do, they aren’t normal for me.”

“But doesn’t that mean what is normal for Uchi is not normal for me? If you support Saku and Kentachi in your own way, then it’s the same thing after all.”

The gorgeous and innocent Yuuko, the elegant and modest Yua.

From the outside, they might seem like polar opposites, but somehow they had been getting along since last year, presumably because they respected each other like this.

While I was thinking about these things, all of a sudden…

──Hey, looks like it’s going to rain.

The conversation of passers-by entered my ears. The sky had indeed been gloomy and cloudy since morning, and the weather forecast said it might rain before evening.

“Let’s go home before it really starts to rain. I’ll walk you both home.”

After I said that, Yuuko replied. “Sure. I forgot to bring my umbrella.”

She already had a good time shopping and finished reporting Kenta’s case.

At that moment, Yua smiled and spoke up.

“Ah, I still have a few more places to visit, you two can go home first. Saku-kun, please take care of Yuuko-chan.”

“Eh? We can go together then.”

Yuuko said as if it was a natural thing to do.

“No, it’s fine, this is a personal matter. I’ll see you guys at school.”

“I see…”

I said goodbye to Yua and took Yuuko home, who still looked reluctant to leave.

***Part 2***

──After dropping Yuuko off at home, I returned to Lpa and entered the Starbucks.

As expected, Yua was sitting by the window, staring outside with a melancholy expression.

“What are you drinking?”

After I called out to her, she widened her eyes in surprise, looking embarrassed. She sighed as I sat down in the chair opposite her.

“…Starbucks Latte with an extra shot of espresso.”

“Are you the type to order a custom drink?”

“I just want to order it.”

I took a sip of my own drink and continued. “This is a personal matter, indeed.”

“…I don’t think it’s good for you to be like that, Saku-kun.”

“…I don’t think it’s good for you to be like that either, Yua.”

I didn’t know if it was out of concern for Yuuko, or because she wanted to be in a place where she was absent before.

But either way, I didn’t want her to dwell on such feelings alone.

Yua laughed softly. “You see through everything, don’t you?”

“We’ve been together for a long time now. At least enough to learn each other’s tastes.”

I quickly slid the short-sized cup in front of me with my fingertips and handed it over.

Yua picked it up with a curious look on her face and took a sip.

“Hojicha… tea latte. Why?”

“I just want to order it.”

I imitated what Yua had just said, and she snickered as if she couldn’t hold back anymore.

“You’re still as annoying as ever.”

“It’s still cuter than just sitting in a daze looking at the rain, right?”

“Hmph!!”

I looked at the blushing Yua who was drinking a hojicha tea latte, feeling a bit regretful that I didn’t order a large cup.
